Gypsy Wife Quilt – 02

Gypsy Wife Quilt – 02

Yay… it’s the crack of midnight as I write this… which is a good thing! Because normally, lately, I’ve been wrapping up at …oh…. 2 AM…. 3 AM… one night errr morning I was up “playing” until 4:30.

I digress.  🙂

My stack of fabrics for my Gypsy Wife all rolled in here this week.  I had to shop 5 different sources to get the variety of fun fabrics within the colors I wanted.   A special thanks to Rhonda Talbot (sewperfectlyvintage.etsy.com)  for squirreling away the border fabric for Moda’s S’more Love design.    She was the only place on the planet that I could find it.   So thanks, Rhonda!

Other than that, I’m thrilled to have scored some of the colors from fabric.com .  It’s fun getting 1/2 yards for about $3.50 each instead of just fat quarters at that price.   This particular quilt has some long lengths  of strips – so I got a few extra yards of pieces that I wanted to focus on – especially the cute little cars pulling the teardrop campers!

Oh.. and I got a nice stack of 33 fat quarters from searching for Moda on eBay.  That seems to be the best place to find the elusive on-their-way-out designs.

As I write this, this campy design is on clearance already – which is kinda goofy, in my opinion.   Let’s see… it’s a summer campy design, it was introduced in AUGUST (wth? compete with Santa Claus and snowmen?) and it’s already well on it’s way out.

I’m just glad I scored all the parts I wanted.  🙂

So here’s block #2…

Gypsy Wife 2

Nighty, night… don’t let the bed bugs bite!  🙂
